Hail yessss

Had a great ride today covering all of Colorado west-to-east. I had hoped to finish up at Julesburg, but some rain, some hail and tons of road construction had other plans for me. Crossing the Rockies on a bike is a very memorable experience. The construction of I70 itself through the canyons near Aspen and Vail is an engineering marvel and the scenery is fantastic. I crossed the Vail Summit at 10,600 feet, the temp dropped to 50F and then the hail and rain started racing me…and they won. As a result, I could only get in 375 miles today to Sterling, 50 miles short of plan. Tomorrow, I’d like to cross Nebraska and end up in Omaha, if the forecast of thunderstorms will permit.
