Oregon Coast

For me, the breakfast of champions is pizza.  I’ve seen what Wheaties can do to a man.

At most points along the Columbia River, a crossing proves to be wide.  Near its mouth, it’s enormous.  Feeling very Lewis & Clark…ish, today’s route crossed the Columbia from near Clark’s Dismal Nitch WA to Astoria OR.

So, how long does it take to cross the mouth of the Columbia?  Video here:

Little beach towns and farm towns stitch together the countless seascapes that comprise the Oregon coast along Highway 101.  A 330 mile chain of  beauty deposited me at Gold Beach for the night, a town defined by the intersection of the Rogue River and the Pacific Ocean.

From here, I should make it into northern California tomorrow.
